GSSC x USC 2025 pitch competition. March 2025
Students from USC’s Technology and Applied Computing (TAC) program are playing a key role in expanding globally engaged, hands-on learning opportunities through the Global Student Startup Competition (GSSC) — an international entrepreneurship initiative co‑founded by Mike Lee, Senior Lecturer of Digital Entrepreneurship and Applied Computing in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.
In May 2026, USC students will travel fully funded to Seoul, South Korea to represent the university at GSSC, held in conjunction with the prestigious Asian Leadership Conference (ALC). The competition brings together undergraduate innovators from leading global institutions to collaborate, pitch startup ideas, and engage with industry mentors across technology, media, and entrepreneurship.
The program reflects TAC’s core mission: to make applied technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship accessible to students across all majors. Through external sponsorships and international partnerships, TAC students gain real‑world experience building ventures, working across cultures, and developing skills that translate directly to careers in tech, startups, and beyond.
TAC students are involved not only as competitors, but also as organizers, designers, and program leaders — demonstrating the interdisciplinary, applied learning that defines the TAC experience.
